Lead a team of talented and enthusiastic VMware and Citrix Engineers for the enterprise end user computing environment. Bring in the matured enterprise processes to bring the end user computing to take the organization to the higher level of engineering capabilities. Act as a Lead to design and monitor an enterprise VMware and Citrix environment. Ensure that integrity is maintained and high availability is met. Manage 24/7 support rotation across the team.

Proactively manage continuous process improvement based on new or emerging technologies, customer feedback, and process standards. Must possess strong customer service skills and be able to communicate highly technical concepts to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise. Must follow the change management and problem management processes.

Other responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development.

  • Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.

  • Accomplishes IT operations human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Achieves IT operations operational objectives by maintaining current system; evaluating, recommending, testing and installing new technology; contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

  • Meets IT operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Determines IT operations service requirements by analyzing needs of users/departments; prioritizing modifications to core system applications; resolves organizational conflict; developing and implementing documentation requirements for problem resolution.

Qualifications / Education:

  • Five to ten years of experience managing and supporting VMware and Citrix environments.

  • A minimum of ten years of experience supporting and maintaining an enterprise XenApp & XenDesktop 5.x/6.x/7.x environment.

  • Experience supporting and maintaining a Citrix Provisioning Server 6.x/7.x environment including Citrix Netscaer, HDX Insight, Web Interface and Storefront.

  • Experience managing various different VMware products including ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vROPS, NSX.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise hardware, especially server tier and experience managing the Hyper converged technology.

  • Extensive experience in complex IT Project Implementations.

  • Experience with scripting and PowerShell is a plus.

  • Must be able to work independently and lead by example.

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or a related discipline required.
